Pregnancy, Week 29:

There have been 2 major changes since the beginning of my 3rd trimester. The first is my increasingly frequent trips to the restroom. I feel like its every 2 or 3 hours sheesh! Some days are better than others I guess, but overall its just a bother. But I guess it gives me a reason to get out of my chair at work to get some much needed circulation to my legs hahaha…

The second change is the constant kicking and punching and squirming he is doing! Lordy, he is sooo active these days. I think I may have a future athlete on my hands (yessss lol). There are some days when I’m draggin’ but Cobey is completely opposite. His favorite move these days is kicking upward into my right rib (just the right one). Sometimes it feels more like he’s stretching than kicking cuz his foot or hand (or whatever it is) just chills there for a few seconds. Very uncomfortable, but still puts a smile on my face. Everyday, when I get home from work, Jayden asks me how my day was and if Cobey was kicking me. My reply is always YES. Last night, when Jayden did his daily checkup I said, “Well you can see for yourself he’s kicking right now!” He put his hand on the Belly and not only did he feel the kick he could actually see my tummy moving! LOL… he was amazed by it (so cute). I know that by now, Cobey can hear people around him talking. Last night was nice because the whole family was relaxing in my bed and talking about Cobey. And lil’ Cobey was kicking and punching away as if he could understand every word we were saying. Jayden is excited to have a little brother. He couldn’t shutup about all the things he has to make sure Cobey doesn’t play with around the house (his biggest concern being knives…lol). He’s determined to be the best big bro ever. We have no doubt that he already is… :)

So Cobey’s due date is November 9th! That makes him a Scorpio. I was just reading this description of Scorpio. Seems like a good mixture of me (Pisces) and Brian (Capricorn), but with the addition of more intense personality traits. Hmmmm…I wonder how accurate this will really be? I’m very excited to meet him and find out!

At 22 weeks the Belly is really showing now. At this point it wasn’t really affecting my walking or ability to do anything quite yet. In fact, when this picture was taken we were getting ready to move. I obviously didn’t lift any heavy objects, but I was able to help pack and clean with no problems (bending, picking stuff up, reaching for things, etc.). I’ve been taking walks on my breaks everyday at work, so I think the daily exercise really makes a difference. Our move was from the 3rd floor to the second floor. That came just in time because going up and down 2 flights of stairs was beginning to wear on me! The place we have now is a bit smaller, but its nice and cozy with a newer, bigger kitchen so that was a nice change. In any case, its allowing us to save a bit more money for baby! His arrival is fast-approaching!

So here he is at 19 weeks. The doctor said that this will be the last ultrasound needed for the rest of my pregnancy (I guess since everything is going so well). I was kinda sad to hear that cuz I look forward to seeing images of the little guy! Brian came with me for this one. We were both being very impatient in the waiting room. He was super anxious and I need to use the bathroom sooo bad. The radiologist was able to see my bladder in the ultrasound and was like..”whoa, let me know how your bladder is doing and if you need to get up to use the restroom..” LOL. Well, after that, it took her a while to say anything more because we told her we wanted to find out the sex of the baby. Cobey was moving around so much that she was having trouble getting a good view of him. I couldn’t see the screen, but Brian could. And in a few minutes she blurted out, “Well, it looks like you got a little dude in there!” We were all smiles, but I could tell that Brian was not completely convinced. She let us look at more images of him, he kept tossing and turning. VERY active. We got to see his hearbeating which was sooo awesome. Knowing that Brian still seemed concerned about it being a boy, I nonchalantly asked the nice lady how long she has been doing this. She told us its been 7 years. Long enough for me, but Brian still has his doubts (I think he really has his heart set on having a baby girl). We are thinking about getting a 3D or 4D ultrasound in order to make sure. I want to see pics of him again anyway! I hear the picture comes out so clear!

Here I am at 19 weeks and 3 days. Still barely showing…and still able to fit all my clothes.

This is the website that my sister referred me to. When I first found it I swear I was on it every single day reading how my baby was developing…even if I read it already. I guess I just wanted to soak up as much info as I could so I would really know “what to expect” lol. But really, I didn’t want to be surprised by anything. When I started getting round ligament pains for the first time I freaked out a little bit. I looked it up on this site and found relief when I read that it was normal. Phew!! Thank goodness. From then on, any other changes in my body were no real surprise because I had read up on all possible symptoms and any other weird pregnancy related occurences. Thanks whattoexpect.com!!!

This is me at about 2.5 months along. I know it doesn’t look like it, but I could tell at this point that it was the beginning of the Belly. And yes, I refer to it with a capital “B” because…well, it’s got a life of its own right? Hahaha…
As I look at this picture now all I can think is, “Gee, I wish I could still fit into those Baby Phat jeans.”

At this point we couldn’t tell he was a boy, but there he is at 13 weeks, 4 days old! I was by myself for this first ultrasound. The lady told me to drink lots of water beforehand. I remember how bad I needed to use the bathroom while I was patiently sitting in the waiting room…not fun. This picture does not do justice to what I was able to witness there in the room with the radiologist. I saw his little heartbeat, hand movements, and a great view of his spine. I’ll be honest, I teared up a little bit at the sight of it all. By that point I had accepted the fact that I was pregnant, but it didn’t become vivid reality until that moment. I couldn’t stop smiling that day. A friend told me I would feel on top of the world after the first sonogram and she was soooo right. Also, it marked the day when my mindset started to change…in a good way. I came to terms with the fact that had more to think about in life than just me now. A fact that I am very excited about. I believe change is a very good thing, and THIS was a VERY big change for me. Oh, the anticipation!

So I’m walking through Living Spaces hoping to find some cute stuff and I come across this. If this picture and frame weren’t so expensive I’d buy it! I like the message. It’s how I try to live life…in the NOW.
